Funding bounties
Bounty.new uses escrow to protect both creators and solvers. Here’s how to fund your bounties and manage payments.How escrow works
When you create a bounty:- Funds locked - Your payment is held in escrow
- Work delivered - Solver submits their solution
- You approve - Review and approve the work
- Instant payout - Funds released immediately to solver
- Solvers know the money is there
- Creators only pay for approved work
Adding payment methods
Navigate to payment settings
Go to your organization’s settings page at bounty.new/[slug]/settings/payments.
Add payment method
Choose your preferred payment method:
- Credit/debit card (instant)
- ACH bank transfer (1-2 business days)
Funding a bounty
When creating a bounty:- Set reward amount - Choose how much you’ll pay for the solution
- Add to escrow - Funds are immediately locked in escrow
- Post bounty - Your bounty goes live with guaranteed payment
Funds in escrow are protected and can only be released when you approve work or cancel the bounty.
Managing bounty funds
Approving work
When a solver submits a solution:- Review submission - Check if it meets your requirements
- Request changes - Ask for revisions if needed
- Approve - Release funds instantly to the solver
Canceling a bounty
If you need to cancel:- Navigate to the bounty
- Click Cancel bounty
- Funds return to your account immediately
Dispute resolution
If there’s a disagreement:- Communicate - Try to resolve directly with the solver
- Request mediation - Contact grim@bounty.new
- Review process - Our team reviews the work and requirements
- Decision - Funds released based on fair assessment
Payment security
Your payment information is protected:- Encrypted storage - All payment data is encrypted
- PCI compliance - We follow industry security standards
- Escrow protection - Funds only released when you approve
- Fraud prevention - Advanced security measures protect your account
Pricing and fees
Platform fee
Small percentage fee on bounty rewards. Covers escrow, payments, and platform costs.
Payment processing
Standard payment processing fees apply based on your payment method.
