How escrow works
- Funds locked: When you create a bounty, funds are held in escrow
- Protected: Neither party can access funds until work is approved
- Released: Funds transfer instantly upon approval
- Refunded: If bounty is cancelled, funds return to creator

Managing your account
Adding payment methods

Go to settings
Navigate to Settings > Payments in your dashboard.

Add method
Click Add Payment Method and enter your details.

Verify
Complete verification (may require micro-deposits for bank accounts).

- Default funding source: Used when creating bounties
- Default payout method: Where you receive payments
Viewing transaction history
See all transactions in Settings > Payments > History:- Bounties created

Tax information
For US users
- Earnings over $600/year require a W-9 form
- You’ll receive a 1099 form for tax filing
- Update tax info in Settings > Tax Information
For international users

Refunds and cancellations
Cancelling a bounty
If no one has claimed your bounty:- Go to the bounty page
- Click Cancel Bounty
- Funds return to your account immediately
After work has started
If someone is working on your bounty:- Communicate with the developer first
- Mutual cancellation returns funds minus any agreed partial payment
- Disputes handled through mediation
